This post is there to help all the freshers who will be coming for counselling . Some rules or procedures might have changed so please keep checking the official sources for announcements .
Hi Everyone , after the cut-off lists are out the season of admissions is on but there is not much discussion about the day of counselling , the day we all wait for so let's talk about that .
The things required :

Photocopies - the haven't made this point clear so let me clear it for you , you need photocopies only of the non-printed items .
There is a photocopy shop near the central canteen , so don't worry about that. But its advisable to keep them beforehand, as you might find the shop crowded.

They also ask for the receipt of counselling fee payment ; its optional buy you must keep it . It's not written but quite obvious to take: seat allotment letter.
You need to self attest each page of the file of document you create , it should be like this :

This is what the teachers were asking to do , it will save time if you do it beforehand .

THE DAY OF COUNSELLING - 4 JULY 2016 .
The timing of brochure says : 10 am to 4 pm but the entire scenario on the day was quit different .
I reached the venue at around 12:30 with my mother, hoping it would at max take 1 - 2 hours for the entire process but things took a long time around 7 hours or so , i was saved by the weather as it was no to hot and the internet at DTU ;) - thanks to seniors out there , at top it was 36 Mbps .
Firstly, the process starts at the gate itself you will be handed over a taken at the gate when you enter ,
if you have someone living nearby the campus, you can ask him to take a token for you, they don't ask much details except rank , roll no etc of student .
On reaching just about 2 hours of scheduled time I got a token of number 417 , the conditions were harder inside as the number was still to reach 50 , the process was very slow , you must reach the venue between 8:30 am - 9:00 am to get an earlier token , One of my friends , reached the venue at around 9:00 am and got a token of 68 and got through the process at around 1:15 pm , so you must plan accordingly .
The process of counselling took place this time in the Civil Engineering Block, the place is very well maintained .
There were help desks where 3rd and 4th year students were sitting for help ,

Here's a free advice, DON'T BUY BOOKS FROM DTU BOOK STORE.(UNTIL YOU'RE FILTHY RICH)
The central canteen (MECH-C),this is where I spent most of my day , food here is good , The coffee is bad and cold coffee even worse, you can try at your own risk .
The final time , i was called inside the auditorium at around 6:30 pm , you need to stand in que here also as they call around 50 - 100 students together and then they sit inside for a while .

The day long journey ended at around 7:30 pm .Got admitted in CSE course finally.(Something to brag about :-p)
Its advisable to reach the college atleast an hour or two before the schedule time to avoid getting this late in completing the procedure.
